What is applied behavior analysis (ABA)?

At Nurturing Beginnings ABA we individualize treatment to provide opportunities that lead to improving socially significant behaviors. We target skills related to decreasing challenging behavior and increasing social communication. We do this through using the science of learning and human behavior or applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABA is a commonly practiced evidence-based therapeutic intervention for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Using the principles of ABA, we are able to observe a child’s behavior and make connections to how the environment in influencing that behavior, as well as identifying why the behavior is occurring.

We provide 1:1 ABA therapy in-home. We also offer contracts with schools for school consultation & professional development training.

What is a functional behavior assessment (FBA)?

A functional behavior assessment (FBA) is the process of gathering information about behaviors to determine why the behavior is occurring and provide insight to which interventions may be effective in changing the behavior. Behavior change occurs when antecedent and consequence variables are changed, as well as directly teaching alternative behaviors.
